LONDON, Aug 17 (Reuters) - The World Health Organization
(WHO) on Wednesday appointed the philanthropist and former mayor
of New York Michael Bloomberg as a global health ambassador to
help governments tackle chronic diseases such as diabetes,
stroke, cancer and heart disease.
